MWACA has many events, activities, and projects that members participate in to provide insight and direction into making our association and our industry better.

Joining a MWACA committee is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact within our community and the industry. Our Awards Committee recognizes excellence in our industry, shining a spotlight on outstanding achievements of shops, individuals, and students. The Membership Committee focuses on growing our association and enhancing member benefits. The Mechanical Committee addresses issues, standards and best practices, as well as identifying needed training to bring to our members. Lastly, the Program & Events Committee assists and executes engaging educational and social events for our members that enrich our members’ professional development and networking. AWARDS COMMITTEE

What you’ll do:

Join us in celebrating the best in the automotive industry! You’ll help select winners for awards like Technician of the Year, Service Advisor of the Year, Service Facility of the Year, and Best Social Media, reviewing applications and shaping the final selections each December-January. With just two one-hour meetings per year plus the application review period, you’ll make a big impact without a huge time commitment.

Why it matters:

 Your efforts honor top performers, support students with scholarships, and elevate professionalism across the industry. Every award you help select inspires others and strengthens our community.

Time commitment:

 Two one-hour meetings per year, plus December-January for reviewing applications.

Major Projects:

  • Selecting award winners to be recognized at VISION

  • Awards include:

    • Service Facility of the Year

    • Green Star Awards

    • Humanitarian Award

    • Best Website Award

    • MWACA & VISION Scholarships

    • TTEF Student Scholarships

Communications Committee

What you’ll do:

Help drive our reach by providing assistance and direction to our marketing team. This committee meets quarterly.

Why it matters:

Strengthens member growth and engagement, enhances public awareness, amplifies our voice

Major Projects:

  • The Driving Force eNewsletter
  • Blog and eNewsletter topics
  • Media Kit
  • Consumer Awareness Initiatives

Membership Committee

What you’ll do:

Boost membership and craft compelling value offers, mentorship, and benefit programs. This committee meets quarterly.

Why it matters:

Ensures MWACA grows stronger and every member gets the benefits they deserve

Major Projects:

  • Annual Membership Drive

  • SOS Group Expansion

  • Mentor Program

  • Member Survey Analysis

Mechanical Committee

What you’ll do:

Influence training, set standards, address industry trends and legislative issues. This committee meets quarterly with about an hour of work in between meetings. This committee is working on roundtable topics and the content for those discussions.

Why it matters:

Keeps members ahead in skills and compliance while boosting shop efficiency

Major Projects:

  • White papers and member resources

  • Training programs (in person and virtually)

  • Industry Alerts & Legislative Monitoring

  • Career Brochure & Career Day Organization

Programs & Events Committee

What you’ll do:

Plan, promote, and host events that educate, fundraise, and celebrate our community. This committee meets quarterly, and possibly more frequently prior to an event. Time commitment is approximately 1 hour per quarter for committee meetings, plus email communication and volunteering at selected events. 

Why it matters:

Enables skill-building, networking, and fun through high-impact gatherings
