If you’ve spent any time around MWACA’s St. Louis chapter, chances are you’ve crossed paths with Doug Jacquot. As Co-Chair of the St. Louis chapter and owner of Jammin’ J Auto & Tire, Doug brings more than 25 years of automotive experience to the industry. But long before he was leading a successful shop, he was the kid taking apart toys just to see how they worked. “I was always taking my toys apart… then bikes… then cars,” Doug says. “One of my special skills is understanding how mechanical things work.”
That curiosity turned into a lifelong career built on problem-solving, craftsmanship, and a genuine love for mechanics. It’s also the kind of mindset that makes Doug a natural leader in the MWACA community — someone who understands both the technical side of the business and the people behind it.
When it comes to success, Doug credits a classic. His favorite tool? Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. That combination of mechanical skill and growth mindset has helped shape his approach to business, leadership, and life. Outside the shop, Doug’s hobbies are exactly what you’d expect from a true gearhead — and somehow even cooler. He spends his free time working on a ’69 Mach 1 Mustang and restoring vintage Emerson Electric fans. Yes, vintage fans. Because apparently bringing old mechanical masterpieces back to life doesn’t stop when the shop closes.
And if you’re wondering what Doug considers the perfect weekend? “Stay home, work on stuff in the garage, nap.” Honestly, that may be the most relatable answer to ever be featured in an MWACA spotlight.
One final fun fact: Doug only wears black shoes. Not “mostly.” Not “usually.” Only black shoes. Practical, classic, and no wasted motion — which feels pretty on-brand for a guy who’s spent decades understanding how things work and making them better.
